Fighting for Love

I come from a family of strong women.

All of them forged through a tremendous amount of suffering in life, however it never broke them!

As every woman the ones on my family was raised to be, wife's and mother's, we learned from our elders how to take a good care of a house, kids and our appearance, so all we had to do was sit straight and wait for our prince, getting married, and being happy forever!

When I was 9 years old, I had to do a family tree at school

- By the way school wasn't as important at my house as wash the diches or keep the dirt flour clean.

Anyway, while I started to draw my family tree, I was totally shocked!

- Had MOTHERS... a lot of KIDS... and... and...

- What a surprise no FATHERS on the pictures at all.

But what impressed me the most was that...

- I do not knew my grandfather's name from my mom's side.

- I didn't even worry about my grandparent's names from my father's side, and shock... He wasn't on the picture as well.

At that moment I started to realize, when comes to my family "marriage" was nothing more than a "Fary tale."

what I do not know at that moment was

That innocent discovery would hunt me day after day as if it was already my destiny too…

For years I thought this negative historical curse would be passed down from generation to generation, so I asked God.

- What do we did to deserve so much suffering?

- It was at that time I decided not to have kids if I don't have the right conditions to give them a good life!

As the years pass by, I reflected back to one of my sisters.

- She had just turned 18 one of the most Beautiful's girls in town, long blond hair, perfect peal skin, she always carries a warm smile that hides all her traumas.

- Given no more chances for the boys in town, she put her dreams in her backpack and decided to search for a new place to call home.

- She went to live at the next state from us by the shore, at the same year she met a local boy almost same age.

-Black hair, blue eyes had worker, won's his clothes and a bicycle perfect troublemaker.

what can I say

- He made her heart bit fast and brought a sparkle back to her life.

-He started to give her rides home on his bicycle every night after work, and everything happened so fast 3 month after the first date, she was given him the news about her pregnancy.

- He didn't step back, didn't even thought twice and asked her to marry him.

- She said "NO."

- This happened about 5 more times, but he never give-up.

- I recalled seeing how all the sacrifices, and strength had allowed them to not only fight for their marriage every day but also be the glue that held their family together year after year.

I do admire her...

 - She still has that same sparkle in her eyes, never gave up on love and they both believed in the dream where princes and princesses can stand together to unite and truly change a course that had been repeated for many past generations!

I am also very happy for her...

- She found someone who has the same string and dreams as her someone who decide to hold her hand when the difficult times come, who is not only a good husband and excellent father but is also her best friend!

But… what about me?

My goal is to continue to believe that our first love should always be found within ourselves.

Self-love is a requirement and depending on how we view ourselves, we then ultimately teach others what we deserve and how to treat us.

True love between couples is a process based on mutual respect and daily dedication to each other.

It means putting one’s selfish pride aside and being willing to serve another with the hope of living alongside of them until the end of time.
